Little Women: The Greatest Performances

In this movie Jo March is played by Irish-Actress Saoirse Ronan just like in Lady Bird she deserves an amazing performance as the leading lady but, every leading lady needs a supporting cast as her sister are played be Emma Watson as Meg, Florence Pugh as Amy and Eliza Scanlen as Beth. Followed by Oscar nominated actor Timothée Chalamet as Laurie, Oscar nominated actress Laura Dern as Mama March and last but not least 5-time Oscar winner Meryl Streep as Aunt March. In their performance Greta seeks out each specific actress for their roles saying they each bring something out in the character’s aspect on life for example her thoughts on casting Emma Watson as Meg in the movie. The article from Indie Wire an online magazine written by Ryan Lattanizio quoted Greta saying, “To me, Watson embodies everything that I was interested in, in terms of who the March women were” (1). For her film Greta really dug deep when came to casting her characters which many people believe it was praised the way it was, she went above and beyond to bring this classic story to life. Therefore, changing the rules of the game she dares ask the question “Can a woman only be good enough for marriage and nothing more?” Other celebrities like Winona Ryder who also played Jo march in the 1994 version of the movie praised Saoirse Ronan for her performance in the movie saying she really brought out what the character is about wanted to challenge that bravery when she played her all those years ago.
